KATHERINE HUSKIE

Katherine has been working with glass for over a 15 years having spent time working in a number of different studio in the UK and overseas including Australia. Huskie has become one of the UK’s most prominent female glass blowers and assistants. Huskie also teaches glass blowing to beginners and more advanced students.

Huskie's work has a strong identity with form and texture, whether it is technique or ascetic driven. She is always searching for new influences and how she can incorporate the inspiration within hot glass. Her work is extremely tactile and this something she tries to harness in all of her designs.

Huskie was named Wimbledon Championship Artist 2018 alongside Nancy Sutcliffe. They collaborated to create 2 large scale glass works that are on display in the Clubhouse. You can see more information about this in the projects section.

Alongside creating neon artworks she also started creating jewellery that uses the same processes as the neon bending, combining borosilicate glass with sterling silver.
